A long address trailing tracking parameters spoils both an email and a social post. The usual route — open a shortener, paste the link, wait, copy the result back — costs half a minute every time.

HyperShort removes the steps in between: open the page, click the icon, and the short link is created and already on your clipboard. It runs against your own short-link server rather than someone else's service, so the links last as long as you need and the statistics stay with you.

What it does HyperShort

One click

No menus and no choices to make each time: click the icon and the link is ready.

Straight to the clipboard

The result is copied automatically — just paste it where you need it.

Your own server

It works with your short-link backend, not a third-party service: the server address and API key are configured once in the options.

Recent links history

The latest short links are listed right in the popup.

No ads, no trackers

No unnecessary data collection and no advertising.

How to use it

  1. Set your short-link server address and API key once in the options.
  2. Open the page you want a short link for.
  3. Click the HyperShort icon — the link is created and copied.
  4. Paste it into your email, post or document.

Who it is for

  • Prepare a newsletter where long URLs break the layout
  • Write a social post where every character counts
  • Put a short link on a slide or in printed material
  • Keep a tidy list of links for colleagues

How to install

  1. Find the extension you need and press Install

The right Chrome Web Store page opens in your browser.

  2. Press Install on the Chrome Web Store page

A blue Install button appears on the right of the listing — click it. If the page opened in a different browser (Safari, say), copy its address into Chrome, Yandex Browser, Edge or Opera and press the button there.

  3. Pin the icon to the toolbar

Open the extensions list in your browser settings and pin the new extension to the toolbar.

  4. Done — open the extension

Click its icon in the browser. No account, no payment, no setup needed.

All four browsers (Chrome, Yandex Browser, Microsoft Edge, Opera) are built on the Chromium platform, so extensions for them all come from one place — the Chrome Web Store. Chrome and Yandex Browser open the listing directly. Edge asks once for permission to install from other stores — choose “Allow”. Opera needs the free Install Chrome Extensions add-on, after which the install button appears on the normal listing page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own server?

Yes. The extension deliberately works with your own short-link backend rather than a third-party service, so your links do not depend on someone else's business and the statistics stay with you. Server address and API key are set once in the options.

Where does the page address go?

Only to the short-link server you configured. This is the one extension in the set that talks to a network at all.

Where can I see the links I made?

The most recent ones are listed in the extension popup.

How many clicks does one link take?

One: open the page, click the icon, and the link is on your clipboard.

Any ads or data collection?

None.

Other extensions in the set

HyperVideo

Finds every video on a page, shows its size and duration, and downloads it in the quality you pick. It also records your screen with sound.

HyperScreen

Captures a screenshot of an entire page and helps you crop it. Handy for a long chat with an AI assistant, a big Wikipedia article or a social media page.

HyperPDF

Merges several files into one, deletes and reorders pages, builds a PDF from photos, and reads reviewer comments on the document.
