Almost every team has a Contacts.xlsx, and almost every one of them is awkward: forty columns, half of them hidden, Ctrl+F as the search engine, and the same person duplicated across three rows. Moving to a CRM is overkill, and internal contacts often cannot be exported to outside services at all.

HyperContacts leaves the file where it is but gives it a proper interface: sections, search on any field, in-place editing and automatic name normalisation. Every change is written back into the same .xlsx, so any colleague can still open it in Excel.

What it does HyperContacts

Any Excel file becomes a database

Configurable sheets, sections and column structure adapt to your file rather than the other way round.

Sections by drag and drop

Reorder sections, rename them and hide them in one click.

Search across every field

Surname, organisation, role, email and phone — filters combine.

Edit in place

Change values directly in the table: Enter saves, Escape cancels.

Name normalisation

Automatic “Surname First Middle” formatting so the list finally sorts the way it should.

Batched email collection

Addresses are gathered and grouped into 10, 40 or 90 recipients to fit mail server limits.

Duplicate merging

Several records for one person consolidate into a single card without losing data.

Verification marks and birthdays

The verification date is recorded automatically, the birth year is optional, and email and Telegram become clickable links.

How to use it

  1. Click the HyperContacts icon and pick your .xlsx contact file.
  2. Arrange sections and columns to match your structure by dragging them.
  3. Search and edit directly in the table: Enter saves, Escape cancels.
  4. For a mailing, run address collection and choose a batch size: 10, 40 or 90.

Who it is for

  • Bring order to a team or industry directory
  • Build a mailing list already split into allowed batch sizes
  • Find everyone from one organisation in a second
  • Track whose details have not been verified in a long time
  • Stop missing partners' and colleagues' birthdays

How to install

  1. Open the extension page

Click “Add to Chrome” — it opens the official Chrome Web Store listing.

  2. Confirm the install

Chrome shows the permissions. Press “Add extension” to confirm.

  3. Pin the icon

Click the puzzle icon next to the address bar and pin the extension so it stays visible.

  4. Open it

Click the icon. No account, no payment, no configuration needed.

Edge, Opera, Brave, Arc and Yandex Browser install it the same way — they are Chromium-based and open the Chrome Web Store directly. If your browser asks for extra confirmation, choose “Install anyway”.

Frequently asked questions

Does it create a copy of my file?

No. Edits are saved back into the original .xlsx — no duplicates and no export to another format.

Do I need a CRM for this?

No, that is the point: the file stays an ordinary Excel spreadsheet any colleague can open without the extension.

Is my data sent to the cloud?

No. The extension collects no data, has no site access and uses no servers; it only opens the file you select.

How do I get rid of duplicates?

The merge function consolidates several records for one person into a single card, keeping every filled-in field.

Why batches of 10, 40 and 90?

Mail servers limit how many recipients one message may have. The extension hands you addresses already grouped to fit.

Are birthdays without a year supported?

Yes, the birth year is an optional field.
