Most sites have no download button, because the video is delivered as a stream cut into hundreds of small segments. HyperVideo listens to what the page actually loads, groups the streams it finds into one list, and saves the one you want in a single click — at the original quality and without re-encoding.
There are no external converters and no middleman servers: traffic goes straight between your browser and the site, and the file is assembled in the tab's memory. That is why it also works where online services cannot reach, such as internal portals available only from your network.

Everything visible before you download
Exact file size from the server, real duration from the file header, every available quality with an estimated size, and a thumbnail frame so you never grab the wrong clip.
Downloads without re-encoding
MP4 is rebuilt from TS segments as-is — no quality loss, and far faster than conversion.
Audio on its own

Screen recording with sound
One click records the current tab together with its audio. The capture frame snaps to the video, sound keeps playing in your headphones, and the result exports as WebM or MP4.
How to use it
- Open the page and let the video play for a second or two so the extension can see the stream.
- Click the HyperVideo icon — every detected video appears with a thumbnail, duration and size.
- Pick quality and container, then hit Download. For audio only, choose M4A or MP3.
- To record instead, switch to the Recording tab, set the capture frame and press start.

Confirm the install
Chrome shows the permissions. Press “Add extension” to confirm.
Pin the icon
Click the puzzle icon next to the address bar and pin the extension so it stays visible.

Edge, Opera, Brave, Arc and Yandex Browser install it the same way — they are Chromium-based and open the Chrome Web Store directly. If your browser asks for extra confirmation, choose “Install anyway”.

Yes. They are all Chromium-based and install extensions straight from the Chrome Web Store, exactly as Chrome does.
Can I download from YouTube?
HyperVideo is not built to bypass a service's protection or terms. It works with open streams the page hands to your browser: company portals, landing pages, webinar platforms, media libraries and documentation.
What is m3u8, and why does “save as” not work?
m3u8 is an HLS playlist: the clip is cut into hundreds of short segments that the browser stitches together on the fly, so a plain save produces a broken file. HyperVideo reassembles the segments into one MP4 without re-encoding.
Does the extension send my data anywhere?
No. No servers, no analytics, no trackers, no ads. Traffic goes directly between your browser and the site you are downloading from.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. It is free, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Does downloading reduce quality?
No. The file is assembled from the original segments with no second encode, so it matches the source.
